Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Atsinanana, head east on Route Nationale 2 (RN2) towards Toamasina. Continue for about 50 kilometers. After passing through the town of Moramanga, take a left at the junction towards Ambohimanatrika. Follow the road for about 15 kilometers, and you will arrive at the coordinates 6VM9+6JH, which is the entrance to Iaroka Forest. Note that the road can be winding and may require caution while driving.

  • Public Transportation

    From Atsinanana, you can take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) to Moramanga. The fare is approximately 5,000 Ariary. Upon reaching Moramanga, you will need to catch another taxi-brousse heading towards Ambohimanatrika. The fare for this leg is about 3,000 Ariary. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Iaroka Forest, located at 6VM9+6JH. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the forest.
