Getting There

  • Car

    To drive from Ranomafana National Park to Andringitra National Park, start by heading south on Route Nationale 25 towards Fianarantsoa. After approximately 60 kilometers, you will reach the town of Fianarantsoa. From Fianarantsoa, continue on Route Nationale 7 heading south for about 40 kilometers until you reach the village of Ambalavao. At Ambalavao, turn left onto Route Nationale 3. From here, follow the signs to Andringitra National Park, which is about 30 kilometers away. The total journey should take around 2 to 3 hours depending on road conditions.

    To use public transportation, first make your way to the nearest taxi-brousse station in Ranomafana. Take a taxi-brousse heading to Fianarantsoa. The ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Fianarantsoa, transfer to another taxi-brousse heading to Ambalavao. This leg of the journey will take approximately 40 minutes. Once in Ambalavao, you will need to find a taxi-brousse or local transport heading to Andringitra National Park.
