Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main visitor center at Hulls Cove, head southwest along the Park Loop Road. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with the Acadia Mountain Trail. Follow the signs for the trailhead, which is located on the left side of the road. The trailhead is well-marked, and you will see a sign indicating the start of the Acadia Mountain Trail.

  • Bicycling

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Bar Harbor. Follow the carriage roads that lead towards Acadia Mountain. Start at the Jordan Pond House and take the carriage road towards the Acadia Mountain Trailhead. This route is approximately 4 miles and offers beautiful scenery along the way. Once you reach the intersection with the Park Loop Road, dismount and walk about 0.5 miles to the trailhead.

  • Public Transportation

    Take the Island Explorer Shuttle from Bar Harbor to the 'Acadia Mountain' stop on the Park Loop Road. The shuttle runs regularly during the summer season. Once you disembark, walk about 0.5 miles along the Park Loop Road to reach the Acadia Mountain Trailhead, which will be on your left.
