Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Bar Harbor, take Route 3 towards Mount Desert Island. Continue on Route 3 for about 7 miles until you reach the entrance to Acadia National Park. Once inside the park, follow the signs to the Acadia Mountain Trailhead. The parking area is located at the end of Acadia Mountain Road. Please be aware that during peak season, there is a parking fee of $30 for a single vehicle, which is valid for 7 days.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the Island Explorer bus from Bar Harbor. The bus service operates during the summer months and offers a convenient way to explore the island. You will need to take the bus to the 'Acadia Mountain' stop. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 0.2 miles) to the Acadia Mountain Trailhead. The bus fare is free, but donations are appreciated.
