    Getting There

    Hiking

    From the center of Bar Harbor, make your way towards the Acadia National Park Visitor Center located at 20 McFarland Hill Drive. The Visitor Center is approximately 1 mile away and can be reached by walking along Route 3. Once at the Visitor Center, you can pick up maps and information about the Gorham Mountain Trail. To reach the trailhead, continue on Route 3 and take the left onto Gorham Mountain Road after about 2 miles. Follow Gorham Mountain Road until you reach the parking area for the trailhead on your right. The trail begins here, and you can start your hike up Gorham Mountain.

    Biking

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Bar Harbor. Start your journey by biking along the scenic Park Loop Road. Head towards the Acadia National Park Visitor Center and continue on the loop road, which will lead you directly to the Gorham Mountain Trail. The trailhead will be on your right after passing the parking area. Make sure to follow the designated bike paths and be aware of pedestrians along the route.

    Shuttle Service

    During the summer months, there is a free Island Explorer shuttle service that operates around Acadia National Park. From Bar Harbor, you can catch the shuttle at various stops along the main streets. Look for the green Island Explorer bus marked with the 'Acadia' route.
