If you are in downtown Bar Harbor, start at the Village Green, which is located at the intersection of Main Street and Mount Desert Street. Head east on Mount Desert Street until you reach the intersection with Eden Street. Turn left onto Eden Street and continue straight for about 1.5 miles. You will pass several shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Acadia National Park. When you reach the park entrance, you will find the Precipice Trail on your left, just after the entrance station.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Bar Harbor. Start at the Village Green and ride east on Mount Desert Street. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the junction with Eden Street. Continue straight, following Eden Street for approximately 1.5 miles. As you approach Acadia National Park, watch for the Precipice Trail sign on your left. There are bike racks available at the trailhead.
