Walking
From the center of Bar Harbor, head south on Main Street towards the ocean. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with West Street. Turn left onto West Street and follow it until you reach the end of the street, which leads to the Shore Path. Walk along the Shore Path, enjoying the ocean views, until you reach the entrance to Sand Beach. The beach is located about 1.5 miles from downtown Bar Harbor, and the walk will take approximately 30 minutes.

If you have access to a bike, start from the center of Bar Harbor and ride south on Main Street. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto West Street. Continue along West Street until you reach the entrance to the Shore Path. Follow the Shore Path, which will take you directly to Sand Beach. The bike ride will take roughly 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your pace.

You can take the Island Explorer shuttle bus, which operates during the summer months. Board the bus at any of the designated stops in Bar Harbor.
