Walking
From downtown Bar Harbor, head east on Main Street toward the water. Continue straight until you reach the end of Main Street where it meets the waterfront. Turn left onto West Street and follow it around the harbor. Stay on West Street as it curves and becomes a path leading towards Acadia National Park. After about a mile, you will see signs for Sand Beach. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at Sand Beach, which will be on your right.

Bicycling
Start from the center of Bar Harbor. Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops, such as Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop. Head east on Main Street and continue until you reach West Street. Turn left onto West Street. Follow the scenic route along the coast as the road leads you toward Acadia National Park. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Sand Beach, which is about 1.5 miles from the town center. The beach will be on your right side.

From downtown Bar Harbor, locate the nearest Island Explorer bus stop. The bus is free and services various locations around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Once you arrive, simply follow the signs to the beach, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
