Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Jordan Pond House, exit the building and head southwest towards the Jordan Pond. Follow the path around the pond, enjoying the views. Continue along the Park Loop Road. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with the road leading to Northeast Harbor. Turn left onto the road and follow it for about 1 mile. The Gatehouse will be on your right, near the entrance to the Brown Mountain Trail.

Biking
From the carriage roads near the Eagle Lake parking area, start your ride heading south on the carriage road. Continue for about 2.5 miles until you reach the junction with the Park Loop Road. Turn left onto Park Loop Road and ride for another mile. Watch for the sign for Northeast Harbor; the Gatehouse will be shortly after the turn on your right. Ensure you have a good bike lock to secure your bike while you explore.

If you are near the Visitor Center at Hulls Cove, you can catch the Island Explorer Shuttle. Take the shuttle heading towards Northeast Harbor. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Northeast Harbor stop and walk about 0.5 miles along the main road. The Gatehouse will be on your left as you approach the entrance to the Brown Mountain Trail.
