Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Bar Harbor, head east on Main Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Route 3. Turn left onto Route 3 and follow it for about 2 miles. Along the way, you'll see signs for Acadia National Park. Once you reach the park entrance, continue straight on the Park Loop Road. After about 3 miles, look for signs directing you to Cadillac Mountain. You will eventually reach the parking area at 707 Cadillac Summit Rd, which is the starting point for reaching the summit.

  • Biking

    Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Bar Harbor. Start from the town center and ride along Main Street heading east. Turn left onto Route 3 and continue biking for approximately 2 miles. As you approach the Acadia National Park entrance, follow the signs for Cadillac Mountain. The designated bike paths will guide you through the park. After about 3 more miles, you will arrive at the parking area at 707 Cadillac Summit Rd.

  • Public Transit (Shuttle)

    Check the local shuttle schedule for the Island Explorer, a seasonal bus service that connects Bar Harbor to Acadia National Park. Board the shuttle at one of the designated stops in Bar Harbor. Make sure to get off at the Cadillac Mountain stop, which is clearly marked. The shuttle will take you directly to the parking area at 707 Cadillac Summit Rd, where you can begin your hike to the summit.
