Walking
If you're starting from the Bass Harbor area, head towards Lighthouse Road. Follow the road signs pointing to the Bass Harbor Head Light Station. The walk is approximately 1 mile along Lighthouse Road, which offers scenic views of the coastline. As you approach the lighthouse, you will see a small parking area on your right. The lighthouse is just a short walk from the parking area, so you won't miss it!

For those starting from the Acadia National Park's main entrance, bike along the Park Loop Road towards Southwest Harbor. After about 6 miles, turn onto Route 102 and then take a left onto Lighthouse Road. Continue for about 2 miles until you reach the Bass Harbor Head Light Station. Be sure to bike safely, and watch for pedestrian traffic as you approach the lighthouse.

Public Transit
While there is no direct public transit route to Bass Harbor Head Light Station, you can use the Island Explorer shuttle service. Take the shuttle from Bar Harbor to Southwest Harbor. Once in Southwest Harbor, you can either walk (approximately 2 miles) or ride a bike to Lighthouse Road, then continue for about 2 miles until you arrive at the lighthouse.
