Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Acadia National Park Visitor Center in Hulls Cove, exit the center and head southwest on Route 3. Continue on Route 3 until you reach the intersection with ME-102. At this intersection, turn left onto ME-102 and walk for approximately 1.5 miles, following the road as it bends and leads you toward Southwest Harbor. Once you reach the junction with ME-102Alt, you will see signs for Wonderland Trail. Continue on ME-102Alt for about 3 miles until you find the trailhead on your right, marked with a small parking area and signage.

  • Public Transport

    From Bar Harbor, you can take the Island Explorer shuttle bus, which operates during the summer months. Board the bus at any designated stop in Bar Harbor and take the Route 2 bus heading towards Southwest Harbor. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at the stop for Wonderland Trail. Once you disembark, walk back a short distance to the trailhead entrance, which should be clearly marked. Make sure to check the current shuttle schedule for times and stops.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle in Bar Harbor and follow the carriage roads towards Southwest Harbor.
