Car
From any location in Penobscot County, head to I-95 N. If you are near Bangor, take the exit for I-395 E towards Ellsworth/Bar Harbor. Merge onto I-395 E, and then merge onto US-1 N. Follow US-1 N for approximately 10 miles until you reach the town of Ellsworth. From Ellsworth, continue on ME-3 E which will take you directly to Acadia National Park. The park entrance is located on Mount Desert Island, and you will see signs for Acadia National Park as you approach.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, first take the Downeaster train from Portland to Bangor. From Bangor, you will need to take a bus operated by the Acadia Shuttle (check the schedule in advance). The Acadia Shuttle runs from late spring to early fall and connects Bangor to Bar Harbor, with stops at various points of interest in and around Acadia National Park. Make sure to purchase a ticket in advance and check the schedule for the most up-to-date times.

Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking from Bangor to Acadia National Park. You can take the same route as if you were driving, using US-1 N and ME-3 E. This is approximately a 50-mile ride. Ensure you have a proper map or GPS device, as well as safety gear, and be prepared for some busy roads. Note that accommodations for bicycles are available at Acadia National Park, and trails within the park are bike-friendly.

If you prefer a more direct route without using public transportation, consider taking a taxi or rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft from Bangor directly to Acadia National Park.
