If you are driving from Portland, take I-295 N toward Brunswick. Continue on I-295 N for about 20 miles. Take exit 28 for Maine 24 toward Harpswell. Follow ME-24 for approximately 8 miles until you reach Bailey Island. Once on Bailey Island, turn left onto Ocean St. The Giant's Stairs and McIntosh Lot Preserve will be located at 19 Ocean St, Bailey Island, ME 04003. There is ample parking available along Ocean St.

To use public transportation, start by taking the Metro bus from downtown Portland to Brunswick. The bus service is operated by the Greater Portland Metro, and you can check their schedule on their official website. Once in Brunswick, transfer to the Downeaster train service heading to Freeport and then to Bath. From Bath, you will need to arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Bailey Island, as there are no direct public transport options to the island itself.
