Getting There

Car
If you're driving, start from Bar Harbor, the main town on Mount Desert Island. Take Route 3 south toward Acadia National Park. After about 3 miles, turn left onto Park Loop Road. Continue on Park Loop Road for approximately 3 miles until you reach the South Bubble parking area. From the parking area, follow the signs for the South Bubble trailhead, which will lead you to Bubble Rock. Be aware that parking in Acadia National Park may require a park pass, which costs $30 for a vehicle and is valid for 7 days.

To reach Bubble Rock via public transportation, you can take the Island Explorer Bus, which operates in the summer months. Board the bus from your location in Bar Harbor or another town on Mount Desert Island. Look for the 'Acadia National Park' route. Get off at the stop for the South Bubble parking area. From the parking area, follow the signs to the South Bubble trailhead. The bus service is free, but you may want to check the schedule in advance to ensure you have a ride back.
