Getting There

• Car

  Start from the center of Bar Harbor. Head south on Main Street for approximately 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Mount Desert Street (Route 3) and continue for about 1.5 miles. Look for Old Farm on your right at approximately 44.3747 latitude and -68.1930 longitude. There is limited parking available directly at the site, so arrive early during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  If you are using public transportation, take the Island Explorer bus service, which operates throughout Mount Desert Island during the summer months. Board the bus at any designated Island Explorer stop in Bar Harbor. Make sure to take the bus heading towards the 'Hulls Cove' route. Disembark at the stop closest to Old Farm, which is typically the 'Mount Desert Street' stop. From there, it is a short walk (about 0.2 miles) heading southeast to reach Old Farm at 44.3747 latitude and -68.1930 longitude. Note that the bus service is free, but check the schedule as it varies during the off-season.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Bar Harbor. From the center of Bar Harbor, head south on Main Street and then take a right onto Route 3. Follow the road for about 1.5 miles. There are bike lanes available; however, be cautious as traffic can be busy. Once you reach Old Farm, there is a bike rack available for parking your bicycle safely.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, start from the center of Bar Harbor and take Main Street south. Continue onto Mount Desert Street (Route 3) for about 1.5 miles. This is a scenic route, and you can enjoy the beautiful views along the way. Be aware that parts of the walk may not have sidewalks, so use caution when navigating alongside traffic.
