Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Hulls Cove Visitor Center, exit the center and head south on Route 3. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto Crooked Road. Continue on Crooked Road for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Eagle Lake Road. Turn left onto Eagle Lake Road. After 0.4 miles, you will enter the park area. Continue straight until you see the signs for Sieur de Monts Spring. Walk down the path towards the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The Abbe Museum is located within the gardens.

  • Biking

    From the Bar Harbor Village Green, head down Main Street towards the waterfront. Follow the path along the waterfront until you reach the intersection with Route 3. Turn right onto Route 3 and bike for about 1 mile. Look for the signs for Sieur de Monts Spring. Turn left onto the entrance road leading into the park. Once inside, follow the designated bike paths to the Wild Gardens of Acadia, where the Abbe Museum is located.

  • Public Transportation

    Take the Island Explorer bus from any stop in Bar Harbor towards the Acadia National Park route. Get off at the Sieur de Monts Spring stop. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk down the path towards the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The Abbe Museum is located within the gardens. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the return trip.
