Drive north on the M1 for approximately 12 km until you reach the signpost for the Chongoni Rock Art Area. Turn right onto the gravel road. Follow this road for about 5 km; you will see signs directing you to the parking area near the rock art site. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads, and be cautious of any potholes along the way.

    For those using public transport, take a minibus from your current location in Shire Valley heading towards Dedza. Make sure to inform the driver you wish to go to Chongoni Rock Art Area. The fare is usually around 500 MWK. The minibus will drop you off at the nearest point to the entrance, which is about 2 km away from the site. From there, you can either walk or hire a local guide who can take you directly to the rock art area. The cost for a local guide is approximately 3000 MWK.
