Car
If you are driving, start from the main road in the Shire Valley area. Head southeast on the M1 road towards Chikwawa. After approximately 40 kilometers, keep an eye out for signs for Lengwe National Park. Turn left onto the road that leads into the park. The entrance to Lengwe National Park will be on your right after about 10 kilometers. Ensure you have cash for the entrance fee, which is around 10,000 MWK for foreign visitors.

Public Transportation
To reach Lengwe National Park using public transportation, take a minibus from your location in the Shire Valley to Chikwawa. Minibuses are available frequently and the fare should be around 1,500 MWK. Once you arrive in Chikwawa, you can hire a local taxi or arrange for a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) to take you to the park entrance. The taxi fare for this final leg should be approximately 5,000 MWK. Make sure to negotiate the price with the taxi driver before starting your journey.

Bicycle
For the more adventurous, cycling to Lengwe National Park is a great option. From the main road in Shire Valley, cycle southeast towards Chikwawa on the M1 road. After about 40 kilometers, turn left at the sign for Lengwe National Park. The park entrance will be around 10 kilometers down this road. Carry some cash for the entrance fee and ensure you're prepared for a physically demanding ride.
