Car
If you're driving, start from Semporna town. Follow the signs to the Semporna Jetty. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the jetty, find the ticket counters for speedboat services to Sipadan Island. It is essential to book your tickets in advance as they can sell out quickly. The cost for a round trip is typically around MYR 200-300 per person depending on the operator.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Tawau, take a bus to Semporna. The ride will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Semporna, make your way to the Semporna Jetty. You can ask locals for directions or use a map app on your phone. At the jetty, look for ticket counters for speedboat services to Sipadan Island, and purchase your round-trip ticket which costs approximately MYR 200-300 per person.
Boat
After obtaining your ticket at the Semporna Jetty, board the speedboat to Sipadan Island. The boat ride usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Ensure you have your diving gear ready if you're planning to dive, as there are no rental services on the island.
