Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Taman Negara National Park, take the East Coast Expressway (E8) and exit at the Jerantut exit. From Jerantut, follow signs to Kuala Tahan, which is the main entrance to Taman Negara. Once in Kuala Tahan, park your car at one of the designated parking areas. From here, you will need to take a boat across the river to reach the park headquarters. The boat ride costs approximately RM 1-3 per person, and operates from early morning until late afternoon.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Taman Negara National Park via public transportation, take a bus from Kuala Lumpur or another nearby city to Jerantut. Buses such as Unititi Express or Transnasional operate this route. Once you arrive in Jerantut, you can catch a taxi or a local minivan to Kuala Tahan. The taxi fare is around RM 30-40, while a minivan may cost RM 10-15 per person. Upon reaching Kuala Tahan, you will need to take a boat across the river to the park headquarters, which costs RM 1-3 per person.

• Walking from Park Headquarters

  Once you arrive at the Taman Negara park headquarters, you will need to walk to the Tualang tree. The Tualang tree is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the headquarters. Follow the main paths leading into the jungle; look for signs that indicate the way to the canopy walkway or the nearby trails. The walk may take around 30-45 minutes depending on your pace, and it's recommended to wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry enough water.
