If you're driving from Kuala Terengganu, start by heading southeast on Jalan Sultan Ismail towards Jalan Kampung Cina. Continue straight to stay on Jalan Sultan Ismail, then take a left onto Jalan Tanjung. Follow this road until you reach the jetty for Pulau Redang. The journey to the jetty is approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic. At the jetty, you will need to purchase a ferry ticket to Pulau Redang. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour and costs around RM55 per person one way. Once you arrive at Pulau Redang, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary, which is located on the island.

To reach Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary using public transportation, first take a bus from Kuala Terengganu to Merang. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal in Kuala Terengganu and the fare is about RM10. The bus journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Merang, you will need to take a taxi or a local minibus to the jetty. Expect to pay around RM15 for the taxi. At the jetty, purchase your ferry ticket to Pulau Redang for about RM55. The ferry ride will take approximately 1 hour. After arriving at Pulau Redang, ask for directions to Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary, which is easily accessible on foot or by local transport.
