Discover more about Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa

Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa, inaugurated in September 2021, is located on the natural island of Thilamaafushi in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The island's name translates to "surrounded by large lagoons" in the local Dhivehi language, perfectly capturing its environment. The resort is spread across nine hectares and features a design that draws inspiration from the archipelago's coral gardens, reefs, and underwater peaks, known as "Thilas". The resort boasts 154 villas, blending local Maldivian elements with mid-century modern European aesthetics. Guests can choose from various accommodations, including one- and two-bedroom villas located on the edge of the rainforest or over the lagoon, each offering views of the Indian Ocean and white-sand beaches. The Thilamaafushi Villa, a three-bedroom villa on a private beach, is available for families and larger groups. Le Méridien Maldives offers a range of activities and amenities, including six restaurants and bars, a water sports center, and the Explore Spa by Le Méridien. Younger guests can enjoy the Le Méridien Family Club, which offers programs such as "assistant marine biologist" and "young amateur gardener". Guests can also explore the uninhabited island of Bodu Finolhu for a rainforest safari. The resort is committed to sustainability, with initiatives including coral reef protection, solar energy use, and a waste recycling facility. The Lhaviyani Atoll itself is known for its clear waters, abundant marine life, and excellent snorkeling and diving sites. Divers can explore famous spots like the Kuredu Express, where they can see schools of fish, manta rays, and sharks. The atoll also offers a glimpse into traditional Maldivian life, with opportunities to visit local islands and learn about the culture and cuisine.
