From Paola, walk to the nearest bus stop on Triq il-Kbira. Take bus number 81 or 82 towards Valletta. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Valletta City Gate'. Once you get off, you will see the entrance to Valletta and the 'Gate, Il-Belt Valletta' is just a short walk from there.

If you prefer to walk, start from the main square in Paola, called 'Pjazza San Duminku'. Head northeast on Triq San Duminku towards Triq il-Kbira. Continue onto Triq il-Kbira until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Triq Sant' Anna, which leads you towards Valletta. Follow the signs to Valletta, and you will reach the City Gate in about 45-60 minutes.
