Getting There

    If you are driving from the main entrance of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, head northeast on Blackwater Road toward MD-16. Continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach MD-16. Take a left onto MD-16 and follow it for about 10 miles. You will pass through some rural areas and small towns. After about 10 miles, turn right onto MD-261. Continue on MD-261 for about 3 miles and follow the signs to Chesapeake Beach. The destination will be on your left.

    To reach Chesapeake Beach by public transportation from Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus station, which is in Cambridge, MD. Once at the Cambridge bus station, take the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus route 906 towards Washington D.C. Get off at the stop for MD-261. From there, you can walk approximately 1 mile to reach Chesapeake Beach. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most accurate timing.
