Car
From any location within Catoctin Mountain Park, head southeast on Catoctin Mountain Park Rd. Continue on this road for approximately 4 miles until you reach the junction with US-40. Turn left onto US-40 E and follow the road for about 6 miles. You will then take the exit for MD-17 S toward Middletown. Continue on MD-17 S for about 3 miles, then turn right onto Zittlestown Rd. Washington Monument State Park will be located on your right at 6620 Zittlestown Rd, Middletown, MD 21769. The total drive is approximately 15 miles and may take around 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will need to first reach the nearest public transit stop. From Catoctin Mountain Park, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus station in Frederick, MD. Once at the Frederick Transit Center, you can take the 60 or 61 bus routes towards Hagerstown. Get off at the Middletown stop. From there, you can either walk approximately 2 miles to Washington Monument State Park along MD-17 S and Zittlestown Rd or arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance to 6620 Zittlestown Rd. Please check local bus schedules for exact times and routes, as they may vary.
