Walking
If you are starting from the Columbia Mall, exit the mall and head east on Little Patuxent Parkway. Continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Route 29. Turn left onto Route 29 North and walk for about 1.5 miles. When you reach the exit for Route 40 (the Baltimore National Pike), take that exit and continue walking north. After approximately another half mile, turn left onto Court Avenue. The Museum of Howard County History will be on your left at 8328 Court Ave, Ellicott City, MD 21043.

From the Columbia Mall, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Howard County Transit Bus Route 404. The bus will take you towards Ellicott City. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Ellicott City (approximately 15-20 minutes). After disembarking, walk west along Main Street.
