Metro
To reach The Ellipse from Silver Spring, start by walking to the Silver Spring Metro Station. Once there, take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Ride the train for about 10 stops until you reach the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. At Gallery Place, transfer to the Yellow Line train towards Greenbelt. Ride this train for 3 stops and get off at the L'Enfant Plaza Station. From L'Enfant Plaza, exit the station and walk south on 7th Street SW, then take a left onto Independence Avenue SW. Continue walking until you reach The Ellipse, located at Washington, DC 20004.
Bus
From Silver Spring, walk to the nearest bus stop and board the Metrobus route Z2, Z6, or Z8 towards the Silver Spring Transit Center. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop for the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. Once you disembark, walk south on 7th Street SW and turn left onto Independence Avenue SW. Continue until you reach The Ellipse, located at Washington, DC 20004.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, head to the nearest Metro station (Silver Spring Station) and take the Red Line to Gallery Place-Chinatown. From there, transfer to the Yellow Line and travel to L'Enfant Plaza. After exiting the Metro, walk directly south on 7th Street SW and make a left onto Independence Avenue SW. The Ellipse will be on your right; it is a beautiful park located at Washington, DC 20004. This journey may take longer, so be prepared for a longer walk.
