From the center of Brockton, walk to the Brockton Bay Transit Terminal located at 1 Federal Street. Purchase a ticket for the RIPTA Route 1 bus heading towards Providence. The bus will take you directly to the Providence area. Disembark at the stop closest to US-44, Providence, RI, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Providence River Walk. Follow the signs to the River Walk.

Make your way to the Brockton MBTA Station located at 1 Depot Street. Board the MBTA train on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line towards South Station. Transfer at South Station to the MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line towards Providence. Once you arrive at the Providence station, exit and head towards the bus stop. Take the RIPTA Route 1 bus towards Wickford Junction, and get off at the stop closest to US-44. Walk to the Providence River Walk from there.

If you are near the downtown area of Brockton, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the bus terminal and then take the RIPTA bus to Providence. Start at the intersection of Main Street and Montello Street, walk east on Main Street until you reach Federal Street, then turn right. Continue straight to the Brockton Bay Transit Terminal. From there, follow the bus instructions to reach the Providence River Walk.
