If you're starting from the center of Nantucket, head northeast on Broad Street toward Main Street. Continue on Main Street until you reach the intersection with New York Avenue. Turn right onto New York Avenue and follow it until you reach the end, where it becomes Wauwinet Road. Continue walking along Wauwinet Road for about 2.5 miles. As you approach the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge, keep an eye out for the Gatehouse on your left at 107 Wauwinet Road. The walk will take approximately 50 minutes to an hour.

For a quicker route, you can rent a bicycle in downtown Nantucket. Start from Main Street and head northeast toward New York Avenue. Turn right on New York Avenue, which becomes Wauwinet Road. Continue biking along Wauwinet Road for about 2.5 miles until you reach the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge Gatehouse at 107 Wauwinet Road. This ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your speed.
