Steps Beach: A Hidden Gem of Nantucket

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the center of Nantucket, head southwest on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street and walk until you reach the end of the street. At the end of Broad Street, turn right onto Washington Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Easton Street. Turn left onto Easton Street. Follow Easton Street as it curves and becomes Steps Beach Road. Continue on Steps Beach Road until you arrive at Steps Beach.

• Bicycle

  From the Nantucket Town center, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start by riding southwest on Main Street. Continue straight and take a left onto Broad Street. Bike down Broad Street and take a right onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until you reach Easton Street. Take a left onto Easton Street and ride along as it curves into Steps Beach Road. Continue on Steps Beach Road until you reach Steps Beach.

• Public Transportation (Shuttle)

  Check the local shuttle service for routes heading towards the beaches. Catch the shuttle at a designated stop in Nantucket Town. Inform the driver that you want to go to Steps Beach. The shuttle will take you along the routes that include Easton Street. Once you arrive at the beach area, follow the signs to Steps Beach. The shuttle schedule may vary, so be sure to check the times beforehand.
