    From downtown New Bedford, start at the New Bedford Whaling Museum located at 18 Johnny Cake Hill. Head east on Johnny Cake Hill toward Water Street. Turn left onto Water Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Purchase Street. Turn right onto Purchase Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Rockdale Avenue. Turn left onto Rockdale Avenue, and continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles. Buttonwood Park will be on your right at the address Rockdale Ave, New Bedford, MA 02740.

    From the New Bedford Whaling Museum, walk to the nearest bus stop at 'Union St & Purchase St' (approximately 0.2 miles).
