Walking
If you are already in downtown New Bedford, start at the New Bedford City Hall located at 133 William St. From City Hall, head south on William Street for about 0.3 miles. You will pass by several shops and cafes. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Purchase Street. The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center is located at 33 William St, just ahead on your left. Look for the large sign indicating the visitor center.

Public Transit (Bus)
If you are near the New Bedford Bus Terminal at 134 Elm St, you can take the local bus service. Board the #5 bus heading towards the 'North End'. After about a 10-minute ride, get off at the stop on William St at the corner of Purchase St. Walk south on William Street for about 2 minutes, and you will find the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center at 33 William St on your left.

If you have access to a bike, start at the New Bedford Harborwalk. Follow the Harborwalk south until you reach the intersection with Purchase St. Turn left on Purchase St, then take another left onto William St. Continue straight for a short distance, and the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park Visitor Center will be on your right at 33 William St.
