Continue walking straight for about 0.4 miles until you reach the waterfront. From there, you can take a scenic walk along the harbor towards the ferry terminal. The ferry to Martha's Vineyard departs from this terminal. Board the ferry and enjoy the 45-minute ride to Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard. Once you arrive, you'll need to take a local bus or taxi to reach Aquinnah, which is about 12 miles away. The bus service is provided by the Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority. Public Transportation
From the New Bedford Bus Terminal located at 134 Union St, take the Peter Pan Bus Lines to Woods Hole. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Woods Hole, walk to the ferry terminal and take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. After about 45 minutes on the ferry, you will arrive in Vineyard Haven. From there, use the Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority bus service to travel to Aquinnah. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance for seamless connections.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike, start from the New Bedford waterfront area. Head toward the bike path that runs along the harbor and follow it out of town. You can bike to Woods Hole, which is approximately 12 miles from New Bedford. Once in Woods Hole, you can take your bike on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. After arriving at Vineyard Haven, you can bike to Aquinnah via the local roads, which is about 12 miles. Be sure to check the ferry policies about taking bikes on board.
