Car
From any location in North Shore, get onto Route 1A or Route 114 towards Salem. If you're coming from the south, take Route 128 north to Route 114. Continue on Route 114 until you reach Salem. Once in Salem, follow signs for Winter Island. Turn onto Winter Island Road, and continue until you arrive at Fort Pickering, located at 50 Winter Island Rd, Salem, MA 01970. Parking is available near the fort.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take the MBTA commuter rail on the Newburyport/Rockport Line to Salem Station. From Salem Station, you can catch the Salem Ferry or a local bus that heads towards Winter Island. If the bus is not available, you can take a rideshare service or taxi from the station directly to Fort Pickering at 50 Winter Island Rd. Please check the MBTA website for the latest schedules and fares.
Bicycle
For those who prefer to bike, there are bike lanes along Route 1A and scenic routes along the coastline leading to Salem. Once in Salem, head towards Winter Island via Winter Island Road. Ensure you have a bike lock for securing your bike at Fort Pickering.
