Public Transport - Bus
From Waltham, walk to the nearest bus stop for the MBTA 70 or 70A bus routes. Board the bus heading towards Alewife Station. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, passing through several stops. Get off at the Alewife Station and transfer to the Alewife subway station (Red Line). Take the train towards Ashmont/Braintree and get off at Park Street Station. Once at Park Street, transfer to the Green Line (C or D branch) towards Riverside or Government Center. Get off at the 'Harvard Square' station. From Harvard Square, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Cambridge Common. Head east on Massachusetts Avenue, and you will find the park at the intersection of Waterhouse Street.
Walking
If you are within walking distance, navigate towards the Massachusetts Avenue, heading northeast. Follow Massachusetts Avenue for about 2.5 miles; you will pass by various shops and eateries. As you approach the intersection with Waterhouse Street, look for the entrance to Cambridge Common. The park is located right at that intersection.
Bicycle
If you are comfortable biking, rent a bike from a local rental station in Waltham. Head towards the Charles River bike path, which connects to the Alewife area and further leads into Cambridge. Follow the path until you reach Alewife, then navigate towards Harvard Square by riding along Massachusetts Avenue. Continue until you reach the intersection with Waterhouse Street, where you will find Cambridge Common.
