Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Port Louis Central Market, exit the market and head towards the main road, Rue John Kennedy. Walk straight along this road for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Intendance. Turn right onto Rue de l'Intendance and continue walking for another 5 minutes. You will see the Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) on your left as you approach the hill.

    From the Aapravasi Ghat, head north on Rue Louis Pasteur. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rue de la République. Walk along Rue de la République for about 15 minutes, then turn left onto Sebastopol Street. The Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) will be on your right as you approach the hill.

    Starting from the Caudan Waterfront, walk towards the main road, Rue du Savoir. Take a left and proceed to the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rue de la République. After about 10 minutes of walking, turn left onto Sebastopol Street, and you will see the Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) on your right.
