Getting There

Taxi
From your location in Cozumel, you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal. Once you arrive at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Playa del Carmen. The ferry ride takes approximately 45 minutes. After arriving in Playa del Carmen, exit the ferry terminal and find the ADO bus station nearby. Take an ADO bus heading to Tulum, which will take about an hour. Get off at the Tulum bus station, and from there, you can either take a local taxi or a colectivo (shared van) to Akumal, which is about 30 minutes away.

Colectivo
Start from your location in Cozumel and take a taxi to the ferry terminal. Buy a ticket for the ferry to Playa del Carmen. After arriving, follow the signs to the colectivo stand, where you will find shared vans heading to Tulum. Board the colectivo; the ride will take about an hour. Once you reach Tulum, ask the driver to drop you off at the Akumal turn-off. From there, you can either walk or catch a local taxi to Akumal, which is just a short distance away.
