If you are in the central area of Oaxaca, start at the Zócalo (the main square). From the Zócalo, head east on Calle de García Vigil until you reach Avenida 5 de Febrero. Turn right onto Avenida 5 de Febrero and continue walking straight until you reach Avenida José María Morelos. Turn left on Avenida José María Morelos, and the Museo de Arte Prehispánico de México Rufino Tamayo will be on your right at number 503. It is approximately a 15-minute walk.

Public Transport
From the Zócalo, you can take a local bus or a taxi. If using a bus, look for buses heading towards 'San Felipe del Agua' and ask the driver to let you know when you reach Avenida José María Morelos. Once you get off, walk a short distance towards the center where the museum is located at Av. José María Morelos 503. The bus ride usually takes about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops near the Zócalo. Head east on Calle de García Vigil, then turn right onto Avenida 5 de Febrero. Continue cycling straight until you reach Avenida José María Morelos, then turn left. The museum will be on your right at number 503.
