Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the center of Playa del Carmen, at the intersection of Avenida Constituyentes and Avenida 5. Head south on Avenida 5 towards Avenida 30. Continue walking until you reach the main bus terminal, which is about a 10-minute walk. Once at the terminal, look for the ADO bus company booth. Purchase a ticket to 'Río Secreto' or 'Ejido Sur'. The bus departs frequently and takes approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the attraction. Get off at the stop closest to 'Río Secreto', and from there, follow the signs to the entrance, which is a short walk away.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the downtown area. Start from the main square and take Avenida 5 south until you reach Avenida 30. Turn left on Avenida 30 and continue until you reach the Carretera Federal Libre Chetumal-Puerto Juárez. Turn right and keep pedaling; 'Río Secreto' is located about 4.5 kilometers down this road. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes, and you will find bike racks available at the entrance.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can take a taxi. You can easily hail a taxi from anywhere in Playa del Carmen. Tell the driver to take you to 'Río Secreto', located at Carretera Federal Libre Chetumal - Puerto Juárez Km 283.5, Ejido Sur. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey, as it may vary.

• Colectivo

  You can also take a colectivo, which is a shared taxi service. Head to the nearest colectivo stop, usually located along Avenida 5. Look for a colectivo heading towards Tulum or Ejido Sur. Once aboard, inform the driver you want to go to 'Río Secreto'. The colectivo will drop you off close to the entrance; the journey typically takes around 20-25 minutes. The cost is usually more economical than a taxi.
