From the main bus terminal in Puerto Vallarta (Terminal de Autobuses), take a bus heading towards Las Juntas y Los Veranos. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Agua Azul stop. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Agua Azul, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes to the El Salto waterfalls. Follow the signs to the waterfalls, which will lead you through a residential area and down a dirt path.

The taxi ride should take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Confirm with the driver that they know the location beforehand.

If you are staying near the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta, you can walk to the El Salto waterfalls. Head south towards the Malecon and continue along the coastline until you reach the bus terminal. From the bus terminal, follow the bus instructions above to reach Agua Azul. This option is more time-consuming and will take approximately 2-3 hours of walking to reach the bus terminal plus the travel time.
