Car
If you're driving from Playa del Carmen, take the Carretera 307 highway heading south. Follow the signs for Tulum/Chetumal. After about 45 minutes, you will reach the junction for Carretera Chetumal-Puerto Juárez (Highway 186). Turn left onto Carretera Chetumal-Puerto Juárez and continue for about 5 minutes. You will find Coral Reef Aquarium Xcaret on your right, just past the Xcaret Park entrance. Be sure to look for the large signs indicating the aquarium. Parking is available at the site, but keep in mind that there may be a parking fee, typically around 100 MXN.

Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Coral Reef Aquarium Xcaret via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. The ADO buses run frequently and the fare is approximately 60-100 MXN. After arriving at Tulum, transfer to a local colectivo (shared van) heading to Xcaret. The colectivo fare is around 30-50 MXN. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Inform the driver of your destination (Xcaret), and they will drop you off at the main entrance. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to the aquarium.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from your location in Riviera Maya directly to Coral Reef Aquarium Xcaret. If you’re in Playa del Carmen, expect to pay around 300-500 MXN for the trip. Ensure to agree on the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The travel time is approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis are available in most tourist areas and can also be booked through your hotel.
