Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards the city of Oaxaca de Juárez. From Oaxaca, take Highway 190 East toward Mitla. After approximately 30 kilometers, look for signs for Hierve el Agua. Turn onto the road leading to Hierve el Agua, which is about 7 kilometers from this junction. Keep in mind that the last stretch of the road is unpaved, so drive carefully. There is a parking fee of around 50 MXN once you arrive.
Public Transportation
From the city center of Oaxaca, you can take a colectivo (shared taxi) to Mitla. The fare is usually around 40 MXN and it takes about 30 minutes. Once you reach Mitla, you can catch another colectivo heading to Hierve el Agua. The fare for this leg of the journey is approximately 30 MXN, and it takes about 20 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Hierve el Agua before boarding.
Guided Tour
Consider booking a guided tour from Oaxaca, which often includes transportation to and from Hierve el Agua. These tours typically range from 600 to 1200 MXN per person and may include additional stops at nearby attractions such as Mitla or Tule Tree.
