Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Tulum, which is a popular base for tourists in the region. Head east on Highway 307 towards Playa del Carmen. After approximately 40 km, take the exit towards Playa Punta Morena (look for signs directing you to the beach). Follow the road for about 10 km until you reach Playa Punta Morena. There is no entrance fee, but be sure to bring cash for any local amenities or parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Tulum towards Playa del Carmen. Buses frequently depart from Tulum's bus terminal. Once you arrive in Playa del Carmen, transfer to a local colectivo (shared taxi) towards Akumal. Request the driver to drop you at Playa Punta Morena. The total cost should be around 60-80 MXN for the bus and approximately 50-100 MXN for the colectivo, depending on your bargaining skills and time of day.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Tulum or Playa del Carmen. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Expect to pay between 400-600 MXN for a one-way trip, depending on your starting point. This is the quickest option and will take about 30 minutes from Tulum.
