Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading to Avery Island, Louisiana. From major cities in Southeastern Mexico, such as Mérida or Villahermosa, you'll want to take the main highways toward the US-Mexico border, ideally crossing at the nearest point such as the Ciudad Juárez-El Paso crossing. Once in the U.S., follow I-10 E toward Baton Rouge. Take exit 139A to merge onto LA-88 S toward Avery Island. Continue on LA-88 S for about 12 miles, then follow signs to the TABASCO Factory Tours at 32 Wisteria Rd, Avery Island, LA 70513. Note that parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
Traveling by public transportation involves several steps. First, take a bus from your location in Southeastern Mexico to a major city like Mérida or Villahermosa. From there, look for a bus service that travels to New Orleans or Lafayette, Louisiana. Once in Louisiana, you can catch a Greyhound or local bus to New Iberia, LA. From New Iberia, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Avery Island, as public transportation options are limited in that area. Be sure to check the schedules in advance, as transportation may not run frequently.
