Getting There

  If you're staying in Tulum, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in town. Head east on Avenida Tulum until you reach the intersection with Avenida Coba, then continue straight onto the bike path that leads to Akumal. Follow the path for about 20 minutes, passing through beautiful scenery. Once you reach Akumal, look for signs directing you to Yal Kú, which is just a short ride from the main entrance of Akumal Beach.

• Taxi

  To reach Yal Kú from anywhere in Tulum, you can easily hail a taxi. Inform the driver that you want to go to Yal Kú Akumal. The ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Ensure you confirm the fare before getting in, as it may vary depending on your starting point. Most drivers will know the location well, but it can be helpful to have the address (77776 Quintana Roo) written down just in case.

• Collectivo

  For an affordable option, you can take a collectivo from Tulum to Akumal. Head to the main collectivo station located on Avenida Tulum, near the bus station. Look for a collectivo heading towards Playa del Carmen and let the driver know you want to stop at Akumal. The fare is usually around 30 pesos. Once you get dropped off in Akumal, follow the signs to Yal Kú, which is about a 10-minute walk from the collectivo drop-off point.
