If you are starting from the Bay City Riverwalk, head north along the river until you reach the intersection of Columbus Avenue. Turn left onto Columbus Avenue and continue walking until you reach Washington Avenue. Turn right onto Washington Avenue. The Historical Museum of Bay County will be on your left at 321 Washington Ave. It's a short, pleasant walk of about 15 minutes.

If you are near the Bay City Transit Center, you can catch Bus Route 1 towards the downtown area. Ride the bus for 3 stops, and get off at the stop for Washington Avenue. From there, walk south on Washington Avenue for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the Historical Museum of Bay County, located at 321 Washington Ave.

If you have access to a bike, you can start from the Bay City State Recreation Area. Head south on the bike path that runs parallel to the Saginaw River. Continue until you reach the intersection with Columbus Avenue, then turn left onto Columbus Avenue. Ride until you hit Washington Avenue, then turn right. The Historical Museum of Bay County will be on your left at 321 Washington Ave. The bike ride should take about 20 minutes.
