Public Transit - Bus
To reach the Detroit Main Library at 5201 Woodward Ave from downtown Detroit, start by walking to the nearest bus stop on Woodward Ave. You can catch the QLine streetcar at the Grand Circus Park station. Ride the QLine heading north towards the New Center One station. Get off at the 7 Mile Road stop, which is near the library. From there, walk approximately 5 minutes southwest on Woodward Ave to reach the library’s entrance.
Public Transit - People Mover
If you're near the Detroit People Mover, take the People Mover to the Cadillac Center station. Exit the station and walk east towards Woodward Ave. Once you reach Woodward Ave, head north. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach the Detroit Main Library at 5201 Woodward Ave.
Walking
If you are close to the Detroit Main Library, simply walk to 5201 Woodward Ave. The library is located in the Wayne State area, just a short walk from popular sites like the Detroit Institute of Arts. Follow Woodward Ave in the direction of the library, and you will see the building on your left side.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in downtown Detroit. Head north on Woodward Ave, and continue straight for about 3 miles. The Detroit Main Library will be on your right at 5201 Woodward Ave. Remember to follow bike lanes where available.
