Bicycle
If you are in downtown Petoskey, you can rent a bicycle from local rental shops. Head north on Mitchell Street until you reach Lake Street. Turn left and ride along the waterfront path. Continue until you reach the intersection with US-31. Follow US-31 north until you see signs for Northport. Continue on this road for about 20 miles until you reach Lighthouse Point Road. Turn left and follow the road until you arrive at Grand Traverse Lighthouse.

For those who enjoy walking, start at the Petoskey Waterfront Park. From the park, walk north along the shoreline until you reach the intersection with US-31. Follow US-31 north, which will take you through scenic views. After about 5 miles, you will come to a rest area; take a break here. Continue on US-31 towards Northport, and after approximately 15 miles, look for Lighthouse Point Road on your right. Walk down this road until you arrive at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
