From downtown Traverse City, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) Route 4 bus towards the east. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the stop near the intersection of Silver Lake Road and Gray Drive. From there, walk south on Gray Drive for about 10 minutes until you reach Cistern, which is located on Gray Drive.

If you're comfortable biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Traverse City. Start at the intersection of Front Street and Park Street. Head east on Front Street and continue until you reach Silver Lake Road. Turn right onto Silver Lake Road and continue for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach Gray Drive. Turn left onto Gray Drive and bike south for about 0.5 miles until you arrive at Cistern.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Traverse City Commons. Head south on the main path towards the intersection of 14th Street and Silver Lake Road. Turn east on Silver Lake Road and continue walking for about 1.5 miles. Once you reach Gray Drive, turn left and walk south for about 0.5 miles. Cistern will be on your right along Gray Drive.
